Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 24, 2026

Cloud9 Windy City LLC ("Cloud9", "we", "us") operates cloud9windycity.com. This policy explains what we collect when you visit the site, why we collect it, and what choices you have.

We have written this in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, contact us and we will explain it.

Who we are

What we collect when you visit this site

Analytics. We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how people find and use this site. This is set to collect:

• pages you view and how long you spend on them
• the site or search that sent you here
• your approximate location, derived from your IP address at city level
• your device type, browser and screen size

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to recognise a returning visit. We do not use this information to identify you personally and we do not attempt to.

We do not collect names, email addresses or payment details through this website itself. There is no contact form and no account to create, and no card details are ever entered on this site.

What happens when you search for dates

The booking search on this site is provided by Guesty, our property management platform. When you enter dates and guests and search, you are sent to Guesty's booking site in a new tab, and your search terms travel with you in the web address.

If you go on to book, you give your name, contact details and payment information through Guesty's booking flow. Payment is processed by Stripe. Guesty and Stripe handle that information on our behalf, and we remain responsible for it. Their own privacy policies also apply to how they process it.

Our booking site, book.cloud9windycity.com, is operated by Guesty on our behalf. It uses its own analytics, session-recording and advertising tools, which are not the same as the ones on this page and are not ours to configure. Guesty's privacy policy covers them.

Neither we nor Guesty stores your card number.

We recommend reading Guesty's privacy policy before completing a booking.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site sets:

• Analytics cookies, placed by Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager, used to count visits and understand site usage.

We do not use this website to advertise to you. As of the date at the top of this page, this website loads Google Analytics and nothing else. By "this website" we mean the pages you are reading here. It does not include our booking site. Guesty operates that site and it uses its own tools, described above. If that changes, we will update this page before the change goes live.

Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works normally without them. You can also install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop Google Analytics collecting data from your browsing anywhere.

Who we share information with

As of the date at the top of this page, this website does not sell your information and does not share it with anyone for advertising. Our booking site is operated by Guesty and uses its own tools, including advertising tools, as described above.

Four companies process data on our behalf in the course of running this site and its booking flow:

How long we keep it

Google deletes this analytics data automatically after the retention period set in our Analytics account. We keep no separate copy.

If something goes wrong

If we learn that personal information about you has been exposed, we will notify you as required by Illinois law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it is used.

Because this website collects no directly identifying information, we usually hold nothing that can be linked to you by name. If you believe we do, write to help@thecloud9team.com and we will look and respond.

If you are booking with us from outside the United States, note that the information you provide to Guesty is processed in the United States.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will say what changed rather than quietly replacing the text.
